Tackling dry skin in the winter is easy if you follow some tried and tested techniques. Here they are.
Wear Comfortable and Non-Irritating Clothing
The fabric of your clothing plays an important role in keeping your skin looking healthy. Some fabrics can aggravate your dry winter skin. Heavy wool and rough clothing can irritate and cause itchiness.
Use light clothing made from breathable materials that are soft to touch. If you really need to use heavier clothing, wear it over comfortable clothing.
Limit Your Shower Time
While you may really love frequent warm showers in the winters, every shower you take can prove damaging to your dry skin. Excessively hot water can turn your skin red and irritate your skin. Keep your showers short and more importantly, adjust the temperature of the water.
Use a Moisturiser Frequently
Constant washing, doing dishes and housework can damage the skin to a great extent. During winters, dryness can cause havoc to your skin. After you shower or wash up, make sure you use a moisturizer on your skin, especially the hands.
Stay Hydrated
While you may not always feel as thirsty in the winters as you would feel when the weather is hot, it is always advisable to stay well-hydrated to keep away dry skin in the winters. Taking care of your skin during the winters requires minimum effort and time. Set a routine for your winter skincare and you will never have to deal with dry skin ever.
